Ly depicts  characters in grayscale  that take the form of , , and . She is known for how she depicts these characters’ eyes, which always  no matter the position of their lanky bodies. Since 2015, she has been painting her character LUV in everyday , often with a skateboard in tow. In many ways a , LUV is an expression of Ly’s memories, emotions, and imagination. She has also brought LUV to life in three dimensions, producing small  and augmented reality renderings of her brooding icon. Ly works in a graphic style with smooth planes of color and crisp, hard edges, and considers Tokyo’s graffitied walls to be an important influence on her work.
